A Village That Nearly Doubled
Asphalt paving in Greenville is tied to some of the fastest growth in the Fox Valley. Greenville had 6,844 residents in 2000 and 12,687 in 2020, nearly double. It became a village in January 2021 when the eastern half incorporated, then annexed the western half of the old township that June. At about 35.8 square miles it is large, so new subdivisions sit alongside farms and rural homes.
New-construction driveways
With so much building, many Greenville driveways are new or recent. The most common early problem is settling over backfill near the garage or along utility trenches. Proper compaction in layers and enough stone base prevent most of it; where it has already happened, we rebuild the low sections.
Rural lots and gravel
Outside the subdivisions, long gravel drives are common. Converting to blacktop means testing the gravel, adding or replacing base, planning drainage along the drive and supporting edges that have no curb.
Airport corridor
Appleton International Airport is the village's economic center, and businesses near it need lots that stand up to heavy use. Commercial work includes paving, patching, sealing and striping.
Roads
WIS 15, WIS 76 and WIS 96 cross the village, along with county roads BB, CA, CB and JJ, and the historic Yellowstone Trail passes through. Driveway approaches on state and county roads follow those agencies' rules.
Parks
Lions Park, with a 10,000-seat amphitheater, Jennerjohn Park and Community Park are among about 210 acres of village parkland. Event lots need scheduling around concerts and games.
Builder driveways
Many Greenville homes got their first driveway from the builder at the end of construction. If yours shows settling near the garage, a sunken line along a utility trench or cracks at the street within the first few years, the base was likely the issue. We cut out and rebuild those sections without replacing the whole driveway.
Scheduling and seasons
We pave from late spring through fall, once frost is out. New-home driveways are best paved after backfill has had time to settle or after extra compaction. Sealcoating comes 3 to 6 months after paving, in dry summer weather.
Edges and plow damage
Wide subdivision streets mean heavy plow windrows at the end of each driveway. A well-compacted apron with supported edges holds up better.
Widening and extra parking
Many families add a third stall, a side pad for a trailer or a turnaround. Each is quoted separately, and we check setbacks and any village requirements before planning.

Our written quotes list each item separately.
Yellowstone Trail heritage
The historic Yellowstone Trail automobile route passes through Greenville, a reminder that this was a crossroads long before the subdivisions arrived. Older farmhouses along the main roads often have long gravel or worn asphalt drives that need conversion or replacement.

Greenville Questions
Our new Greenville home needs a driveway. When should it go in?
After heavy construction ends and backfill has been compacted. We check the base before paving.
Can you pave a long country drive?
Yes. We test the gravel, rebuild the base and plan drainage.
Who approves a driveway onto a county road?
Approaches on county roads follow county rules; state highways follow state rules. We check first.
Do you work on lots near the airport?
Yes, including paving, patching, sealing and striping.
What does a new driveway cost in Greenville?
National guides list standard asphalt at about $5 to $12 or more per square foot; a 1,000-square-foot three-car driveway runs roughly $5,000 to $12,000. Your written quote is the price.
When should a new driveway be sealed?
After 3 to 6 months of curing, then every few years.
Can you add a trailer pad beside our driveway?
Yes. Trailer pads need a thicker section and deeper base for the point loads from jacks and tires. We check setbacks and any village requirements first.
Do you pave country drives off WIS 76 or WIS 96?
Yes. Approaches onto state highways may need state approval, and we check that before planning approach work.
